Controversial MDC-T legislator Tabitha Khumalo is at the centre of yet another storm, after she reportedly assaulted a fellow Member of Parliament, Albert Mhlanga.
The alleged incident occurred at the party’s Bulawayo headquarters on Monday.
According to close sources privy to the Morgan Tsvangirai led party goings on, Khumalo accused her party Mhlanga, an MP for Pumula Constituency, of sabotaging her.
“Trouble broke out when the two exchanged harsh words at a party meeting,” said the source.
Mhlanga allegedly told Khumalo who had just been released from hospital that the party would have been better if she had died as she could have been easily replaced.
He said Khumalo then attacked Mhlanga who bolted out of the meeting and hid in his car.
Contacted for comment Mhlanga said he was ready to take legal action against Khumalo, if the party did not take the issue up.
Khumalo denied that there was such a scuffle.
MDC-T Bulawayo province chairman Gorden Moyo said he was not aware of developments in Bulawayo, as he was in Harare on Government business.
“I am not aware that there was such an incident, but I will verify that information when I am back,” said Mr Moyo.
