About FactChecker

The aim of this FactChecker is to help readers understand politics and know the truth . We want to be the referees in the political game . We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major politicians in the form of TV and radio adverts , , speeches, interviews and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of journalism and to increase public knowledge and understanding.

Radio dialogue reporters and editors will fact-check statements by Politicians and civic society groups and rate them whether they are true or false.
Below is the scale we are going to use :

  • TRUE – The statement is accurate and there’s nothing significant missing.

  • MOSTLY TRUE – The statement is accurate but needs clarification or additional information.

  • HALF TRUE – The statement is partially accurate but leaves out important details or takes things out of context.

  • MOSTLY FALSE – The statement contains an element of truth but ignores critical facts that would give a different impression.

  • FALSE – The statement is not accurate.

  • MAMPARA – The statement is False and makes a ridiculous claim.

We will also track promises made by politicians during the election period and analysis election manifestos of different parties.
